The Grand Prix Richmond Crackstyle meme originated in March 2014 when Magic: The Gathering player Sid Blair posted a viral photo album to Reddit. In the series, Blair posed in prayer-like gestures next to numerous exposed butt cracks of fellow tournament attendees at a Grand Prix event. The images highlighted a long-standing stereotype within the gaming community regarding hygiene and etiquette. While Blair received a temporary ban for the stunt, the images became legendary internet history. Today, the template is used to jokingly point out obvious flaws, expose 'cracks' in logic, or simply to pay tribute to one of the most famous photographic protests in nerd culture.
