The Captain Kirk 'Khan!' meme originates from the 1982 film Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. In this climactic scene, Admiral James T. Kirk, played by William Shatner, realizes he has been marooned on a desolate planet by his nemesis, Khan Noonien Singh. Kirk looks up and lets out an elongated, guttural scream of the villain's name.
